Hagerstown, MD - Garden State Tanning, Inc. today announced that the company has completed a memorandum of understanding with Shanghai Richina Leather and its parent company Richina Pacific Limited to jointly construct an automotive leather finishing operation at the site of the Shanghai Richina Leather facility in Boashan, Shanghai, China.
When completed, Garden State Tanning will have its first full leather production facility in Asia, with complete cutting and sewing operations for automotive seat covers for China and other world markets. Garden State currently operates a cutting operation in Zhong Shan, Guang Dong, China, as well as production operations in the United States and Mexico.

Specific details of the long-term agreement between Garden State Tanning and Shanghai Richina Leather for automotive leather production were not disclosed.
